This is a fabulous example of a Heubach 399 black doll in an unusually large size, he dates from 1919. His brown glass eyes open and close perfectly and his closed full lipped mouth is well painted with no rubs. He has pierced ears. He has a perfect painted bisque head with the Heubach Kopplesdorf name and 399 impressed on the back. He has his lovely sheepskin wig which is still in excellent condition. He is on his good body with the original stringing, the body is in wonderful condition with all the original paint and sheen, the little finger on his right hand has been repaired.

He is still wearing his original felt skirt which is most unusual to find usually they are raffia. He also has what I am sure is his original bead necklace. He has the most amazing face and would be a wonderful addition to any collection.
